Letter to Sandeep on His first Job

My letter to Sandeep before his first job in Mar 23, 2009.

My dear son Sandeep,

I am writing this letter with deep gratitude to God for bringing you thus far in your life. When Mom and I think back on everything that has happened to you, it is crystal clear to us, how the gracious hand of God has been steadily guiding you and protecting you. Now you are at the threshold of a major milestone in your life – your first job. This is a part of your transition – when you will no longer be a boy, but will grow to become a man. Our greatest longing for you Sandeep, is that you will enter into manhood with a deep relationship with God.

Now that you are going to take up your first job, here is God’s Word to you:

Employees, obey your earthly bosses with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like employees of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does (adapted from Eph 6:5-8).

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31)

NEVER forget God, and all that He has done for you. The Bible says: Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father (James 1:17). This includes every aspect of your life, including this job.

ALWAYS remember that you can do nothing of any value without Him. Jesus said: Apart from me you can do nothing (John 15:5). Therefore, the Bible says: Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5,6). This is a command with a promise.

My son, I wish you the highest blessing that comes straight from the heart of God, in Numbers 6:24-26.

       The LORD bless you and keep you;
       The LORD make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you;
       The LORD lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.

Go forth, in the strength that God gives.

Love,

Dad
